Production Leadership Positions

​Strong production leadership is at the heart of every successful show at Prairie Players Civic Theatre. Directors, stage managers, designers, and other leaders provide the vision, creativity, and organization that turn scripts into memorable performances. These roles coordinate the many moving parts of a production—from rehearsals and technical elements to costumes, sets, and performances—ensuring that volunteers, cast, and crew all work together toward a shared goal. Production leaders not only shape the artistic quality of each show, but also foster collaboration, mentor new participants, and help build the supportive community that makes Prairie Players Civic Theatre thrive.

• Director - guides the creative vision of the production by leading rehearsals and collaborating with designers and actors.
  
• Music Director - Oversees all musical aspects of a production, including teaching vocal parts to the cast and leading music rehearsals.
• Stage Manager - Manages rehearsals and coordinates backstage activities during performances.
• Production Manager - Oversees all logistical and administrative aspects of the production.
• Set Designer - Designs and oversees the construction of the physical surroundings in which the action of the play occurs.
• Costume Designer - Designs and oversees the creation or selection of costumes that reflect the characters' personalities, statuses, and the time period of the play.
• Props Manager - Designs and secures all stage properties needed for each character in the show.
• Light Designer - Plans and executes the lighting scheme for the production, enhancing mood, atmosphere, and focus. 
• Sound Designer - Responsible for the auditory elements of the production, including sound effects, music, and amplification.
