The art of improvisation is all about living in the moment. Come explore what improv means to YOU and use your brain and your body to stretch yourself. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. Participants must be 18+ and the cost is $100 for adults and $85 for students. Each participant will receive two free tickets for the final class showcase on March 8.
A Night of One Acts
January 25 at Prairie Players Civic Theatre
Experience the magic of storytelling with three one-act plays performed without sets and with limited props. Each play offers a unique journey—ranging from the poignant to the hilarious to the dark—promising a night of unforgettable moments. Featuring Anna and August by Don Zolidis, Serial Killer Barbie by Colette Freedman, and Alone by Collin Sevigny.
Homicide Hawaiian Style: A Mystery Dinner Experience
February 22 at Prairie Players Civic Theatre
For one night only, be part of the crowd who sifts through the evidence to figure out what went terribly wrong at a Luau Party. Ukulele player Bobby Brady blames all of the trouble on a cursed tiki necklace worn by singer Jax Johnson. Tread lightly, everyone isn’t who they appear to be. This will be a luau to die for! Written and directed by Kenny Knox.
This Random World: The Myth of Serendipity
April 4-13 at Prairie Players Civic Theatre
This bittersweet comedy explores the near-misses and unspoken connections that shape our lives. The play follows intersecting stories of family members and strangers who unknowingly cross paths, revealing how chance encounters and missed opportunities define our relationships. With humor and heart, it delves into the randomness of life and the human condition. Written by Steven Dietz and directed by Todd Quick. Auditions are February 16 from 2-4 and February 17 from 6-8.
Into the Woods
July 11-13 at the Orpheum Theatre
This captivating and richly layered musical weaves together beloved fairy tale characters into a single, complex narrative. While Act I presents the familiar "happily ever afters," Act II delves into the consequences of those wishes. Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine. Directed by John Siebken. Music direction by Bob Fornander.
